Customer Testimonial: How Climb is Modernizing in vivo Research at Seres Therapeutics

RockStep is proud to work with innovative organizations like the Seres Therapeutics to help advance life sciences research.

Seres Therapeutics is working to revolutionize treatment of a wide range of diseases by modulating the function of the human microbiome. Their visionary team has been at the forefront of microbiome therapeutics for over a decade. Their innovative research has lead to the first FDA-approved, orally administered microbiota-based therapeutic indicated to prevent the recurrence of Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) in individuals 18 years of age and older following antibacterial treatment for recurrent CDI (rCDI).

Seres also has other programs in their pipeline working towards harnessing the power of the human microbiome to treat antimicrobial-resistant infections and ulcerative colitis, as well as therapeutics to improve the response and tolerability of cancer treatments. Before selecting Climb as their in vivo research and data management solution, Seres used unsustainable legacy processes, such as spreadsheets, to manage their studies and data. We’re excited to contribute to Seres’s groundbreaking work by providing them with modern, configurable software that helps advance their pipeline!

RockStep is always looking for ways to improve Climb and our user experience, so we connected with a couple Seres researchers to get their thoughts. Lauren Moran, Supervisor of in vivo Pharmacology, is really seeing the benefits of Climb for quick study design and thorough tracking of study progression.

Climb has decreased the time to create a study. It also allows us to more easily track who has completed animal work on a day-to-day basis.”

– Lauren Moran, Supervisor, in vivo Pharmacology, Seres Therapeutics

Easy, on-demand access to study data is also a high priority for Seres. Both Lauren and Ted Allen, Principal Bioinformatics Engineer, commented on how much Climb has improved research data management across the organization.

“Climb has helped us to have a more organized and consistent way of organizing our data.”

– Lauren Moran, Supervisor, in vivo Pharmacology, Seres Therapeutics

“A big reason for Climb was to enable easier data integration across the R&D organization. Using spreadsheets was too confusing.”

– Ted Allen, Principal Bioinformatics Engineer, Seres Therapeutics

Lauren also commented on our comprehensive Onboarding process and Customer Support team. Since RockStep is committed to providing excellence in both the quality of our product and the experience we provide our customers, we love to see our efforts proving successful.

The onboarding of Climb was extensive. Not only was there a full  week of training on the system, but a hypercare period was provided which was very helpful, especially for users who have not extensively used an electronic data capture system in the past.

The support team has been fantastic. They are quick to respond to any issues and are willing to actively solve any more involved issues, instead of just giving instructions on how to fix it and sending us on our way. They respond very quickly, usually within a few hours as opposed to overnight or within 48  hours, which is very helpful.”

RockStep is proud to work with innovative organizations like Seres Therapeutics and support their work with the human microbiome.  We built Climb, our cloud software for in vivo studies, to help unlock the value of preclinical data and accelerate research to advance breakthroughs that improve patients’ lives.
